Hey BYC!
To describe last night nights race, we had surreal skies; storms on both sides of us in the Atlantic and LI Sound; sun at times; strong flooding tide; and wind shifts of 30*. We all were out there battling the tide to the shortened finish line and our hopes held the storm at bay. The race was followed by a fun cruise back to the breakwater.
We have enjoyed two races that were close calls with the weather. Race committee will err on the side of caution on the next race that exhibits similar conditions. Abandonment of the race will be a strong probability should we experience lightning and storm threats.
Best Regards,
Chris
