Very challenging race last night! The favorable tide at the start made for quite a challenge. Everyone please take a look at Rule 30.1. which reads, "If flag I has been displayed, and any part of a boat's hull, crew, or equipment is on the coarse side of the starting line or one of its extensions during the last minute before her starting signal, she shall thereafter sail from the course side across an extension to the pre-start side before starting." This is sometimes referred to as the "round the end rule". Although, an odd way to also comply would be to sail outside the starting line crossing an extension returning to the start side then dipping entirely in the proper starting side of the line a second time and starting. Hence, round the end seems more common. Unfortunately, a second boat did not comply with this rule this series. Osprey did not properly restart and has been entered as a DSQ.
Next week is the Chili cook-off! Bring a chili and/or side and party at the club house. We will announce the race and May series tentative winners at the party.

After an unavoidable delay from mother nature and the subsequent readjustment of the course, which was expertly executed by the "Sweetest of Peas". We all enjoyed a great race. Fun tactics, and interesting tides…
As you all know these are unofficial results as we do not have all the 2012 PHRF certs in yet, etc.
Please excuse the extra information at the bottom of the results for the DNC's didn’t want to delete them from the program yet. However, results are as you see them, Haze, Loki, Osprey, Skidip, Swans' Way, Skoot, Buckaroo, Roxanne, Wave Equation.
Sorry for the non-appearance at the club tonight with this info. I think I'll be able to pull it off next week, too much undone on the boat setup this week and I forgot to ask the committee boat to drop of the result sheets to me. We'll get the BBQ up and running again as well. I'll speak w/ Steve and see if it will work for 5/9/2012.
