Adventuresail a great success! The kids were delighted to be out on the water and taking part in a sailboat race for the first time in their lives. Thanks to Breakwater Yacht Club and the Town of Southampton a group of young girls was given this opportunity this past Saturday. After the race they all received prizes and a huge, tasty lunch of fried chicken and all the fixens. Thanks go to all the individual boat owners who donated their time and the use of their boats for this event and the funding of Town of Southampton for making it happen.

BYC's General Meeting, which took place on Saturday was attended by only 28 members - not exactly impressive numbers when you consider that our membership is up to 279 people. Those that did attend were apprised of the Club's financial status, plans for implementing a rental policy for the clubhouse, fund raising efforts, plans for our Dedication and Commissioning Ceremony and Junior Sailing statistics to name a few, and were able to meet and discuss their personal agendas with various Officers and Board members.

A suggestion with much merit was made by a member who is a cruising sailor and would like to initiate a program of members' participation in Club sponsored cruising programs. If there are more of you out there who have an interest in this idea, please let us know.
